There is no subscription, no trial that expires and no account to make. The editor is free to use for as long as you like, exports are unlimited and free at 480p with a small watermark, and you only pay if you want that watermark gone.
Free — the whole editor, and unlimited exports
Everything in the editor is free: automatic captions, all 63 caption styles, animations, colour grading, auto-reframe, clip finding, trimming and sound effects. Nothing is held back for a paid tier.
Free exports come out at 480p with a small aicaptioncut.com watermark in the corner. There is no limit on how many you make, how long your video is, or how many projects you keep, and nothing expires — the watermark is the only difference between a free export and a paid one.
Paid — one payment, once, for that video
One payment removes the watermark for that video: the cheaper unlock exports it at 720p, and the full one at 1080p (Full HD), 60fps and the top bitrate. Subtitle files (.srt and .vtt) are free on every tier, paid or not. The exact price is shown in your own currency before you pay — there is nothing to work out from an exchange rate.
It is a one-off payment for that video rather than a plan. Nothing renews, no card is stored, and re-exporting the same project afterwards costs nothing.
Why it is not a monthly plan
The reason is architectural rather than generous. Cloud caption tools rent GPUs by the minute, so every minute of your footage costs them money — which is why they meter you by video length, upload size or credits, and why that meter has to keep running whether you are using it or not.
AI Caption Cut renders on your own device. A longer video costs us nothing, so there is no meter to run and no reason to bill you every month for a video you are not making.
What paying actually changes
Only the export. The watermark comes off and the resolution goes up. Every editing feature — and the subtitle file — is already yours before you pay anything, which means you can finish the whole video and watch it back before deciding whether it is worth the money.
Questions
Is there really a free tier, or is it a trial?
Genuinely free, and it does not expire. Unlimited 480p exports with a small watermark, the whole editor, and every caption style — no account and no card for any of it. Paying is entirely optional, and only removes the watermark.
Do I pay per video or per month?
Per video, once, at full 1080p and 60fps. If you export often there is also a 30-day Unlimited Pass, which is still a single payment rather than a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Subtitle files are free either way, and the price is shown in your own currency at checkout.
If I re-export the same video, do I pay again?
No. Once a video is paid for, exporting it again — after fixing a typo, say — is free.
Are any caption styles or features behind the paywall?
No. All 63 styles, every animation, colour grading, auto-reframe and clip finding are free. Paying changes the export only.
How do I pay?
Through Razorpay, in the browser, at the moment you export. No account is created.
